Day 28: Cochem to Bonn and CologneWed Aug 3, 2016

We travelled overnight an arrived in Bonn in the morning. We met our local guide for a walking tour of the old city. Our guide was a bit boring so after a visit to Bonn University and Beethoven's house, we left the tour group and walked around the inner city on our own. We returned to the ship for lunch and the cruise downstream to Cologne rather than take the faster route via coach to Cologne. It was the better choice because we had rain all the way into Cologne. We disembarked in Cologne for a walk up to the Cathedral. Later, we rejoined the ship for the cruise towards Amsterdam and the Captain’s Farewell Dinner.
