Day 17: Exploring Arles Sat Jul 23, 2016

Even though we were on the ship, we stayed in port today for our Freedom of Choice activity. We first visited Moulin du Calanquet, a working olive mill in Saint Rémy de Provence. We then moved on to Saint-Paul de Mausole Asylum, where Van Gogh spent many of his later years. After returning to the ship for lunch, we then took a walking tour to the fascinating ancient Roman relics of Arles. This evening, we will attend a Gala Welcome Dinner on board our ship.
