Day 22: Skagway — Glacier Bay Wed Jul 09, 2014

We wake to World Heritage-listed Glacier Bay National Park with its 'rivers of ice and sky-scraping peaks'. The day did not begin well with low-level cloud but as we cruise through the national park, the weather clears wonderfully to bright blue skies. The commentary of local rangers who have come aboard the ship explain the geological wonders and point out some of the glaciers and mountains. Two spectacular glaciers — the Lamplugh Glacier and the Margerie Glacier — provide classic blue ice vistas and calving icebergs. Colossal is a word that is just not big enough.
