Canada & Alaska - 2014

Day 11: Lake Louise — Jasper Sat Jun 28, 2014

We left Lake Louise and joined the Icefields Parkway, a picturesque route that winds through the Canadian Rockies drifting past one hanging glacier after another. We took a stop at Peyto Lake, another of the ionic blue glacial lakes. Later, we stop at the giant Columbia Icefield to visit the Athabasca Glacier. We boarded a specially-designed Ice Explorer vehicle and journeyed out onto the glacier. Back on the bus, we followed the Athabasca River to the Athabasca Falls. From there we travelled to Maligne Canyon and then on to Jasper National Park and the location of the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
