Day 5: Vancouver — Capilano Suspension Bridge Sun Jun 22, 2014

Technically the tour began yesterday but today is the first time that parts of the tour group travel together. The Capilano Suspension Bridge is the first of our “Freedom of Choice” Sightseeing trips. We teamed up with Kaye and Hazel to travel to the bridge in North Vancouver.

The bridge has been in place in one form or another since 1889 and crosses the Calipano River into a West Coast rainforest. When a large number of people walking cross at the same time, the bridge certainly begins to sway. Only one fearless explorer from the party of four made it across.

The Cliffwalk is a second trek which follows a granite precipice along the Capilano River with a labyrinth-like series of narrow cantilevered bridges, stairs and platforms. The views from the Cliffwalk were impressive.
